C.D.P. HISTORY OF LARCHVILLE & LISDUGGAN

Larchville and Lisduggan housing estates are situated on the outskirts of Waterford City. The two estates are separated by a large shopping complex, St Paul's Church and an area called Manor St. John which houses a building that caters for community projects. This is an important facility for the two estates.

Between them the two estates span quite a large area. Lisduggan was built first in 1968 and Larchville followed in 1972, the style is mainly terraced and semi-detached housing. Larchville is made up of squares (or cul-de-sacs), each consisting of roughly 30 houses, whereas Lisduggan consists of one main street with many terraces adjacent to it and running parallel to each other. In 2001, the Manor St. John housing estate was built, comprising of 47 houses.

The total population in 2008 for all three estates is 1953.
